Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Matthew 5:6
Dear Father in heaven, our Righteous and Just God, you are impartial in your judgement of man and deliver Justice without leniency to those hardened and unrepentant sinners, but show clemency towards those who, humble and contrite, make suitable reparation for their sins. Father, you know that we are, by our human nature, essentially sinful, yet, you give us time to understand and undergo purification and sanctification by our penance for all offences committed.
Lord, give us the grace to fill our hearts with love and tread cautiously on the path of faithfulness to you, to experience your grace, your bountiful favour and to grow in spiritual knowledge and wisdom. May we, as followers of Christ, display our love of truth, follow your Holy Word and honor you with one accord, that we may be brought into community with you. We come to you with hearts that have experienced your Mercy and Compassion. With hearts full of gratitude, for to this day you have shown us the way, guiding us through the perfect and the imperfect.
We yearn to be filled with your Holy Spirit and to know that we belong to you. You are working in us to bring about what you have in mind for each one of us and for the many who have a holy passion for our Living God, thirsting for justice, truth and love. Be with us through your comforting Spirit. Touch us through the hand of Jesus Christ, our Savior, and Redeemer. We hold fast to him so that we can praise you in his Holy Name. Amen
