“Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word.” – Acts 4:29
At the start of their ministry, shortly after receiving the Holy Spirit, the apostles fervently prayed this prayer. Their passion for preaching the gospel was so strong that they did not waver in the face of threats from the religious leaders of their time. Despite the risks, they remained steadfast, refusing to believe that their trials were a sign of God’s punishment or rejection. Fully aware of the power their opposition wielded, they pressed on with unwavering faith, knowing they were guided by the Holy Spirit.
God turns what the enemy intends for harm into something that ultimately benefits us. When we endure difficulties while staying aligned with His will—without giving in to bitterness or resentment—He works even our hardships for our good. The key is to keep our focus on fulfilling His purpose in our lives.
Dear Heavenly Father, grant me the passion and dedication of the apostles to obey You and boldly share the Gospel, regardless of the cost. Fill my heart with Your love and teach me to extend that love to those around me. Help me resist the temptation to let sadness, frustration, or bitterness take root when others wrong me. Instead, may I overcome negativity with the love that flows from You. Thank You, Lord. Amen
