WE ARE TRULY BLESSED WHEN WE TRUST IN GOD
“Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him!” – Psalm 34:8
This verse echoes the wisdom of *Proverbs 4:23*, which reminds us to “guard your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.” Living a life that pleases God is the foundation of a joyful, blessed, and fulfilling existence. Our words reflect our thoughts and the emotions we carry in our hearts. By being mindful of our thoughts, we can stop negative ideas from taking root and influencing our emotions, words, and actions.
Speaking deceitful or idle words is harmful, as it undermines our integrity and diminishes the trust others place in us. We can spare ourselves unnecessary pain by avoiding evil, doing good, and actively pursuing peace, even if it means letting go of things we once deemed important. A blessed life is not possible when we harbor anger, engage in constant conflict, or adopt a critical and self-righteous attitude. God created us for love, joy, and peace, and we must cherish and nurture these gifts in our lives.
SUGGESTED PRAYER
Lord God, help me find joy in the life You have given me. Teach me to guard my thoughts and words, preventing evil ideas from taking hold in my heart and leading to hurtful actions. Help me to respond with grace when things don’t go my way, so I may hold onto the peace You have given me. Thank You, Lord Jesus, for Your peace, and help me treasure it as a gift beyond measure. All glory and honor to Your Holy Name, forever and ever. Amen
