GOD’S CHILDREN ARE LED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” – Romans 8:14-15
No one can be led by the Holy Spirit if they do not believe in Jesus and are not born-again. Once we are God’s children, we start to follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit. There are Christians who do not identify the source of the spontaneous thoughts that the Holy Spirit puts in their minds, considering that they must be their own thoughts, because they are in their minds.
Once we were touched by the Holy Spirit, believed that Jesus is the Son of God and we asked Him to be our Lord, we entered into the special relationship with God as His sons. That is not a relationship of bondage or slavery under the terror of fear, but Father-child relationship and the child inherits the Father. By the Holy Spirit we are adopted by God, and we call Him “Abba, Father.”
SUGGESTED PRAYER
Dear Lord, I am so thankful for being led by Your Holy Spirit and being Your child. I am adopted into Your family, and I can call You, my Father! Thank You for such a great privilege! I did nothing to deserve this, it is all because of Your amazing grace and love! I am not a slave that should be under the terror of fear, but I am Your beloved child and all You are asking me to do is to love and obey Your will. I know that Your will is the best for me and there is no greater love than the love You have for me. Thank You and praise You forever and ever. Amen
