EVEN IF A MOTHER CAN FORGET HER CHILD, GOD NEVER FORGETS US
“Can a woman forget her nursing child, and not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, Yet I will not forget you.” — Isaiah 49:15
We all recognize that the bond between a mother and her nursing child is one of the strongest there is. God designed it this way, ensuring that mothers can provide the constant care their infants need.
Many mothers endure incredible hardships out of love for their children. Yet, Father God assures us that even if a mother were to forget her child, He will never forget us. We are blessed to be eternally remembered by God.
God’s love for His chosen ones is more tender, perfect, and unchangeable than the love of a father or even a mother for her nursing baby. Unlike human love, which can be affected by the world’s depravity, God’s love remains steadfast. Though often described as a father’s love, here it is elevated beyond that comparison. This is truly comforting—praise God!
SUGGESTED PRAYER
Dear Father, You are so loving and merciful. You knew how much I and many others would need to understand the greatness of Your love for us, and what better comparison could be used than a mother’s love for her nursing child? I am blessed to know that You will never forget me and that Your love is always there for me! As Your creation and Your child, I have value in Your eyes and a special place in Your heart, as every human does. Thank You, Lord, so very much. Please help me never forget how much You love me and teach me how to walk in Your will every day. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
