THE POWER OF PRAYER, PRAISE AND WORSHIP

Is anyone among you afflicted (ill-treated, suffering evil)? He should pray. Is anyone glad at heart? He should sing praise [to God]. – James 5:13

This might seem simple, but this is how our life should be with our Lord, simple. Trusting God for all we need is the key that keeps things simple. We are not to complicate our lives by trying to figure it all out and make things happen. We need to learn to depend upon our Lord and when sickness or other suffering or pain affects us or our dear ones, the best solution is to come to our Lord, telling Him in prayer what our need is. At times, the Holy Spirit may guide us to use the authority we have in the Name of Jesus and resist the devil, to overcome a sickness or an evil attack.

When we are happy and joyful, a praise song is not far away! Some of us prefer to sing out loud, others in their hearts, alone or as they listen their favorite worship songs. It doesn’t matter how we do it, as long as we sincerely praise our Lord.

Even when we are sad, worshiping and praising God is the best way to overcome sadness and despair. When we worship the Lord, we focus on Him and it is easier to let go of what bothers us and we take hold of our thoughts and emotions, trusting God for solving our issues.

SUGGESTED PRAYER

Thank You Lord for all the spiritual weapons You have given me. In prayer I can give it all to You, and by praising and trusting You, I allow You to work on my behalf, by which I find peace and rest. Help me to choose to sing praises to You when I am happy and when I am sad. When I enter into Your presence, sadness cannot stay, despair has to go and fear has no place in a thankful heart full of praises. Thank You Lord, for the authority I have in Your Name, as long as I keep a pure heart and live for You. Thank You and praise You for everything, in the Name of Jesus I pray. Amen.
