THE 4th OF DECEMBER
IN A CHRISTIAN’S LIFE, STEALING, LAZINESS AND VULGARITY CANNOT BE THEIR FRUIT
Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need. Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. Ephesians 4:28-29
Stealing has absolutely no place in a Christian’s life. We are called to labor honestly, so that we may have more than enough to sustain ourselves and bless others who are in need, for one reason or another. From Acts 20:35 b, we learn that “‘It is more blessed to give than to receive’” as Jesus said.
Profane, worthless and vulgar speech have no place in our vocabulary or on our lips. When we live for Jesus, it is revealed in our behavior and speech also. Our speech should comfort, counsel or build others up according to the circumstances, so that it blesses all who hear. Many times, when in the natural we would have reasons to speak harsh, if we choose to obey God, using the right words, we might offer grace and mercy to the one we talk with and have a good impact on those who witness it.
SUGGESTED PRAYER
Dear Gid, help me to make a good and honest living, which is pleasing unto You. Please help me to have more than enough so that I may bless those who are in need around me. Lord please help me guard my heart so that no bitterness or frustration would produce bad words, when I talk with other people. Please help me to choose the right words that will bless those who hear them and build them up. Thank You Lord and praise You with all my heart, now and for all eternity, in Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen
