MONTHLY DEVOTIONAL FOR 4th APRIL

THE 4th OF APRIL

EVERLASTING PEACE AND REST ARE THE RESULT OF A RIGHTEOUS LIFE

The work of righteousness will be peace, and the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever. My people will dwell in a peaceful habitation, in secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places. – Isaiah 32:17-18

When we truly belong to God and live in obedience to Him, through Jesus’ sacrifice, we are counted righteous. Being in right standing with God results in “peace, quietness and assurance forever.” This is an amazing promise and it is the truth! Because we are God’s children, we dwell in a peaceful habitation. We can have constant inner peace in knowing that “in Jesus we are in a secure dwelling,” where we can rest in silence. We can ignore all fears and worries choosing to have peace and rest in knowing that we are in Christ, in whom we belong to and who takes care of us and our future.

It is up to us to never forget all the truths mentioned in the previous paragraph. Often we are surrounded by many unbelievers that worry and despair about everything. If we do not keep our focus on Jesus and the truth of His Word, we may find ourselves starting to think and react like those around us. We should make sure to spend enough time in fellowship with our Lord and be on guard against the evil one, so as to correct the words and behavior of the unbelievers that circumstances often require us to be around.

SUGGESTED PRAYER

Dear Lord, please help us to be always on guard when we are around people that are constantly negative, fearful and depressed. Help us to pray in our heart and proclaim your Truth, making them correct their toxic words.

Thank You so much for the peace, silence, comfort and security that we have assured forever in You. Help us to rest in Your presence on a daily basis and trust in You no matter what! We want to love and praise You forever. Amen
