“Be still and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations. I will be exalted in the earth.”
– Psalm 46:10
God, you are our Refuge and Strength, our ever present help in trouble. The earth is full of desolation, brought on by war and disunity. There are trials, tribulation and turmoil and our hearts are restless, especifically when suffering manifests in the lives of our families or in the world around us. We need to pause and in the stillness of that pause, bring to mind that our Powerful, Mighty and Compassionate God, awaits our approach to his altar.
We praise you for the grace to be still, and to be reminded that you are accomplishing your purposes, through us, for the glorifying of your Name among the nations. And so we pray that your Goodness and Kindness, your Justice and Holiness is spread through all the people’s who exalt your Name and let your promises and your Holy Word be experienced by them as a beacon of Light in the midst of the darkness of evil.
All glory be to your Name, O Lord, for there is no God other than our One, Holy, Living God, Whose dominion is throughout the firmament, covering heaven and earth. We pray that by our faithful evangelization, you will be exalted among the nations, and in all the earth. And we look forward to the day when every nation, tribe, and tongue gathers around your throne. We join with them and we will be still in that day and know face to face that you are God. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
