Who stops wars to the ends of the earth, breaks the bow, splinters the spear, and burns the shields with fire.
Psalms 46:9
Lord God, our Stronghold and Sanctuary we cleave to you in great thankfulness, for you are our shelter, our hiding place, where we find rest and release. You turned away from us when we betrayed you in our wickedness, and allowed us to fall into the hands of our foes, but your steadfast nature, your unconditional love and unfailing promises turned our captivity into freedom, destroyed our evil enemy and lifted us up with power and protection, for you answered our call for mercy.
Lord, your compassion knows no bounds. You give us lasting security and render useless all the plans and ploys of our wicked adversaries. You grant us profound peace and tranquillity, when we have recourse to you. Your richness of grace and bounties of mercy quell the fires of rebellion in perilous times. Your compassion ends the danger of war and crushes the weaponry used to perish our souls.
We pray, dear Lord, that the blessings of your mercy for us never cease through any falling from grace in our lives. May we always repose in the safety of your mighty arms, and may our faith grow in recognition of your saving power and your unfailing faithfulness. May we stay rooted in you, and enjoy the peace of Christ to the very ends of the earth. We
