THE SAINT ANDREW CHRISTMAS NOVENA PRAYER

The St. Andrew Novena is a popular Advent devotion. Beginning on the Feast of St. Andrew, November 30, the prayer is said 15 times a day until Christmas.

While it is called the St. Andrew Novena, the prayer is addressed to God and focuses our attention on the coming Nativity. For this reason, it’s also called the CHRISTMAS ANTICIPATION NOVENA.

PRAYER:

(From 30 November to 24 December)

Hail and blessed be the hour and moment in which the Son of God was born Of the most pure Virgin Mary, at midnight, in Bethlehem, in the piercing cold. In that hour vouchsafe, I beseech Thee, O my God, to hear my prayer and grant my desires, [here mention your request] through the merits of Our Saviour Jesus Christ, and of His blessed Mother. Amen.
