TODAY’S GOSPEL READING
1 MARCH, 2025
Mark 10:13-16
People were bringing children to Jesus that he might touch them,
but the disciples rebuked them.
When Jesus saw this he became indignant and said to them,
“Let the children come to me; do not prevent them,
for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
Amen, I say to you,
whoever does not accept the Kingdom of God like a child
will not enter it.”
Then he embraced the children and blessed them,
placing his hands on them.
THE GOSPEL OF THE LORD!
In this passage, Jesus welcomes little children, saying, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” He reminds us that childlike faith—full of trust, humility, and dependence on God—is the key to entering His kingdom. Often, we complicate our faith with doubt, pride, or self-reliance. Jesus invites us to embrace Him with openness and simplicity, just as a child trusts a loving parent. May we learn to surrender our worries and approach God with a heart full of faith and love.
Heavenly Father, thank You for reminding us that Your kingdom belongs to those who have a childlike heart. Help us to trust You completely, to seek You with sincerity, and to rest in Your love. Remove any barriers that keep us from coming closer to You, and fill us with the joy and faith of a child. May we always welcome others with the same love and grace that Jesus showed. Amen
